Sean Lee’s Dreambuilders programs serve children and families in need in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. His initiatives include giving kids at after-school clubs access to technology to make reading more interactive and fun, as well as providing assistance to families burdened by large medical bills due to unexpected illnesses.
Sean’s Dreambuilders program works hand-in-hand with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Fort Worth and Greater Dallas, where thousands of the area’s youth go to receive educational assistance. The program fills a need in helping children bridge the achievement gap by raising reading levels. In the last two years, Sean’s Dreambuilders program has provided the Boys & Girls Clubs with $50,000 in technology and equipment upgrades. This includes the purchase of literacy software, as well as e-readers for children to use in the clubs.
In Fort Worth, Sean Lee’s Dreambuilders program has funded literacy software for all of the Boys & Girls Clubs in that city. As of Aug. 31, 2014, 992 children had enrolled in the program, and 54% of them have improved their reading level by at least one level.
In addition to his literacy initiatives, Sean has also partnered with PMR Charity, whose primary focus is to assist families and individuals who have experienced an illness, trauma, or an unexpected hardship in the North Texas Area. Dreambuilders and PMR work together to help hundreds of families who cannot afford to pay their medical bills.
